And rest assured, a return on the investment will be recognized when installing a metal roof from AM Burney Exteriors. Just take a look at a few of the benefits of working with our team for a steel roof installation:

  • Unmatched manufacturer transferable warranties

  • UL Class 4 hail impact rating
  • Defies winds up to 120-160 MPH
  • Class A fire rating
  • 100% recyclable
  • No warping, splitting, peeling or cracking
  • Lower rates on homeowners insurance
  • Withstands frigid Minnesota winters and blistering summers
  • Increased resale value
  • Curb appeal

At AM Burney Exteriors, it’s our objective to be the best possible Eagan metal roofing company in the area. As an Eagan metal roof contractor we have some of the most comprehensive and complete metal roof packages and the benefits show for it.

Clean, sleek, and contemporary are a few of the features that can be expected with a standing seam roof. Standing seam steel roofs will always have our clients covered, providing strong protection and peace of mind. They resist high winds and shed rain or snow, making them ideal for Minnesota homes. Unlike asphalt roofs, the reflective surface of steel helps maintain the internal temperature of the home as steel roofs do not hold heat like an asphalt shingle does.

Galvalume coatings are applied to the steel to make it rust and corrosion resistant. With a steel roof, Eagan homeowners will never have to worry about molding and rotting. This means steel roofs are more environmentally friendly than asphalt roofs. Asphalt roofs get thrown away eventually, taking up space in our landfills, whereas steel roofs are 100% recyclable.

Stone-coated steel roofs are known for exceptional durability and quality. Made with 26-gauge steel and coated A-50 galvalume, these roofs are evenly coated in stone chips with a durable heat activated acrylic bonding agent. These roof panels possess a Class 4 hail rating and 120 MPH wind rate. Protection ratings of that level will keep homeowners at ease, and potentially lower the cost of homeowner’s insurance. Stone-coated roofs have grown in popularity in recent years.

Another perk available with specific profiles of stone-coated roofing is a patented above-sheathing ventilation system. Air spaces are left between the steel panels and the roof decking to create a natural convection effect. This results in a cooler home in the summer, adding to the energy-effectiveness of steel roofing, and saving our clients money.

We encourage our clients to discover our wide range of stone-coated steel metal roofing profiles that are available in a variety of colors and color blends:

  • Cottage Shingle – this steel roof looks like asphalt shingle.
  • Pine Crest Shake
  • Shingle
  • Barrel Vault
  • Pacific Tile

We can also install chic metal roofs. A great choice for a distinctive and stylish look is embossed interlocking roofing. This double-textured roofing style comes in many colors and two profiles – slate or shake. The multi-tones and shadow lines will give every home an elegant townhome look while still possessing the benefits of a steel roof.

These roofs are more than beautiful, an embossed interlocking roof can withstand winds up to 160 MPH. Embossed interlocking roofs made from steel will never crack, split, or warp. They also resist mildew and mold. The added protection provided by these steel panels will qualify most homeowners for lower rates on homeowner’s insurance, once again saving our clients money over the years. The applications extend past roofing, as these steel roofing panels can be applied to sidewalls or accent panels as well for an extra design touch.

Metal Roof FAQs

Is a metal roof noisy?

This is probably the #1 question we as metal roof installers get.  Perhaps you remember standing under a barn, shed or outbuiliding during a rainstorm. In these structures, the steel roof panels are secured directly to the rafters.  There is no sound barrier so it sounded loud when it rained. On a home, townhome or heated commercial facility, the steel panels are fastened to an underlayment, then decking, with insulation under that and a sheet rock ceiling which absorbs and muffles sound.

In addition, and this too helps muffle sound, some metal roofs can be installed over an asphalt roof.  Considering the layer of shingles, roof deck, attic air space, rafters, the insulation, and sheetrock ceiling, individuals who have metal roof say what they hear when it rains is the rain on their skylights and soft metals (gutters), not their metal roof.

Can I walk on my metal roof?

Yes, but like with any roof care should always be taken.

How much does a metal roof cost compared to asphalt roofs?

Initially a metal roof may cost more depending on the type of asphalt shingle you compare it to.  A steel roof will never need to be replaced in your lifetime, lasting 40-80 years (depending on metal type) when compared to asphalt roofs which last about 17-20 years in our climate. If you have hail, wind or storm damage asphalt shingles are more likely to damage when compared to a metal roof. Therefore over a life-time,  a metal roof is less expensive.
